Tips and Techniques

This section is primarily for tips about riding and cycling in general.  Please start with the “Getting Started” section if you haven’t already, and then click on the other sections, as you see fit.

There is a lot to learn about riding, believe it or not.  It’s not as easy as, well, “riding a bike”!  I’ve tried to cover the basics for you.  Check out the links, have fun, and please comment on things you like, things you would like to see more of, and things you still have questions about!

Below are links to tips and techniques topics (note that many of these are still under construction, so please comment if you’d like any of them finished sooner!):

    • I would say there are two key answers to that question:
      1) a good pair of shorts (preferably bib shorts, in my opinion)
      2) a well-fit saddle
For the former please see my comments on shorts, for the saddle, comments are coming soon. In a nutshell, though, there is no one-size-fits-all saddle. Talk to friends and try several before you buy.
Make sure your bike is properly fit to you as well – small angles in your seat, for example, can make a huge difference in comfort.

Good luck and thanks for your question!
